Ty graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Nutrition Science in 2010. He received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2013. Following graduation, he returned to his hometown area in the Nebraska panhandle to serve the rural population prior to joining the LOPT team in 2020.
Ty was recognized as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) in 2019. He became a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2016. He is also has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) since 2013. He is certified in dry needling through Kinetacore. He is currently a member of the Orthopedic Section of the APTA and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
Ty is married to Kristin who is also a physical therapist. They have two children and enjoy the outdoors including camping, hiking, and mountain biking.
